I am proud of the accomplishment of the decision that the Supreme Court handed down yesterday. I am proud of everyone who fought so hard to get us where we are today. I am proud of my family. I am proud of the riders that work so hard in my classes 6 days a week. I am proud of everyone who lives their life to the fullest. Of everyone that strives to make their lives better. Of everyone who tries to make life better for everyone else. I am proud that I am still able to play a small role in helping others. I am proud. I am grateful. Thank you.

I am so excited about this morning's track list! The Ride with Tommy!'s Sexy Spin @crunchgym - Sunset was full of special music including several that had a very personal connection with me. Todrick Hall @toddyrockstar just released his new single and video, "Low" which is so great and so much fun! Todrick, a Crunch member, is one of the most multi-talented people I know! If you haven't yet, check out his many YouTube videos! Crazy talented! And speaking of crazy talented, it happens to be the amazingly talented @DebbyHoliday Debby Holiday's birthday today! She is one of the most beautiful people inside and out! I have loved and played her music for a long time in my classes, and today I played her most recent single, "Lift". Happy birthday, Debby! Finally, I am a huge fan of Giorgio Moroder's music. Yes, he was a huge hitmaker in the 70s and 80s including songs by Donna Summer (Last Dance, MacArthur Park, No More Tears, I Feel Love), Blondie (Call Me), Irene Cara (What A Feelin'), Limahl (lead singer of Kajagoogoo's solo hit, "The Neverending Story"), and Kenny Loggins (Danger Zone). Well he just released his first album in over 30 years and it is amazing! He has produced songs featuring the vocals of Kylie Minogue (Right Here, Right Now), Sia (the title cut, Deja Vu), Britney Spears (a remake of Suzanne Vega's Tom's Diner) and more! I hope all of you had as much fun riding to this morning's track list as I had putting it together. Thank you as always for your support and for trusting me with the opportunity to help you change your body, improve your physical and mental fitness, and reach your personal fitness goals. It is an honor that I do not take lightly! So feel proud of what you accomplished in class this morning, share the positive energy that you created in class with people that you encounter throughout the day, and make plans to do it all again! In good health, tommy

Well the new Peak Performance Ride is off to a strong start on Tuesday mornings at 7:00am @crunchgym - Sunset! Now don't let that fancy title scare you off. Like I have been saying in class, the class is not really that much different from what you are used to. However, we are slowly introducing a little bit more resistance work a little bit at a time. The idea is to more accurately simulate an actual road ride that incorporates true hills. And to make it even better, we have the new technology that allows us to see or monitor our workouts on huge, big-screen tv's at the front of class. You can see a number that represents the actual power that you are exerting while working so hard. You can see the actual rpm's (revolutions per minute) that you are actually pedaling. You can see where you rank in regards to the other riders in class. All of this is to help motivate you and to provide you with more information regarding your workout. And hopefully with more information, you will learn more about your workout and how your body reacts to your workout as well as the challenges and obstacles that you create and overcome in class! Now doesn't that sound exciting? It is! Again, class is not radically different. We still warm up, jog, add movements, climb hills, run and cool down. We just add a little more resistance or "hill work" into the mix and are able to visually monitor what you are doing while doing it! Come check it out! Thanks as always for your support of the Ride with Tommy! and all the newest classes @crunchgym - Sunset that incorporate the latest, cutting-edge technology to help you get the best, most challenging and fun ride possible! In good health, tommy

A lot of fun and high energy music is being released right now. So this morning's class featured some of that. Fun. High energy. New music. A few new remixes. A couple of songs that currently have news-making videos going viral due to the lavish productions and numerous and high-profile guests featured in them. A definite British influence on this track list, including a song that I discovered on my recent vacation in London. Some of my kids' favorites. And a request from a Ride with Tommy! regular who will be celebrating his birthday tomorrow, A.J. Happy birthday A.J.! I hope its the best ever! Thanks for your birthday request and for your long and continued support of the Ride with Tommy! Thanks to everyone for your support of my classes. I am truly grateful and honored that you include my classes in the pursuit of the healthiest you possible! Improving your mental and physical health and well-being one pedal stroke at a time. I hope that all of you do indeed leave class feeling better about yourself, thinking clearer, experiencing positive energy, and confident that you made a difference in your life. There is a lot that goes into the preparation of a spin class. There is a lot that can make it a pleasurable (as pleasurable as can be for a workout!) and rewarding experience. An important part of that experience is the music. I always try to provide fun, high-energy and popular music that represents a variety of styles so that everyone in class can relate and benefit from their favorite song, artist or genre at one point. It is my job as the instructor to make class as challenging as possible for experienced riders, as assessible as possible for newcomers, and always as fun, high-energy, positive, intense and distraction-free as possible. These are my goals for every class. I do not take your trust and my responsibility lightly. I hope that my goals are met for you, the rider. I always look forward to our 45-minute journeys together. Thanks for the opportunity. I hope to see you in class (again) soon! Until then, in good health, tommy

So this morning's Threshold Ride became a Threshold Pride Ride! As you can easily see by glancing at my track list, there was a definite theme. Pride. Celebrate. Perfect. As we celebrate Pride here in Los Angeles, I wanted to take the opportunity in this morning's class to highlight musically what we are celebrating. What we should be proud of. Ourselves. No matter who you are. No matter what you are. No matter where you come from. No matter who you love. Each of us is so important. So awesome. So amazing. So worth it! We have traveled a long way to get to where we are today. We have a long way to go, but there is so much to celebrate! And there is so much to look forward to! So let's emphasize the positive! Spend less time being afraid or tearing down those that may be different. Spend more time loving everyone for what they can contribute. And everyone can contribute something positive to society. And the easiest and best way to do that is to start by just loving each other. Loving yourself. Yes, it can all be taken down to the most basic thing...love. So just do it. Just love it! Just love each other. Just love you! Be confident. Work as hard as you can to be the best you can be. Then, stand up for what you so strongly believe. For what you deserve. Fairness. Equality. Love from others. So let's get this celebration started! You are born this way so be proud! I got my pride and it is a deeper love for all of us! Don't be afraid to express yourself. You are perfect, and you are so worth it! Happy Pride everyone! Celebrate! Be safe! Be kind! Love!

Music Videos @darrencriss @mileycyrus @crunchgym #totalrequestride That's right. Nothing but fun in this morning's intense class. Some of my favorite high energy videos to start the class off right. Then following that up with some of the most motivational music to complete one of the most high energy, empowering, challenging, intense and fun classes ever! After yesterday's emotional send off for this year's California AIDS LifeCycle riders, I carried some of the songs specifically chosen for that class over to today's ride. Jennifer Lopez's @jlo "Booty" is one of my favorite videos to start a class off right! @tomhanks dancing in @carlyraejepsen's video for "I Really Like You" is also a lot of fun and destined to be one of the songs of summer for sure! @giorgiomoroder's new single featuring @sia, "Deja Vu" continued the energy and fun. Eventually getting to my recent favorite combination of a song written by Darren Criss for an episode of "Glee", "Rise", and a remix of the inspirational Miley Cyrus song, "The Climb" which is perfect, of course, for a hill. (See what I did there? :o) Then, cooling down to one of my current favorite ballads from the movie, "Planes: Fire and Rescue", "Still I Fly". And then another of my favorite ballads, "You Have More Friends Than You Know", which was written by Jeff Marx and Mervyn Warren and commissioned by the @ItGetsBetter project in 2013 for a touring stage production about the bullying of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender youth. Powerful. And finally, as the @AIDSLifeCycle ride raises millions of dollars for AIDS research and for those living with HIV/AIDS, I felt it was vital to end the cool down with a groundbreaking and iconic fundraising song for the cause, "That's What Friends Are For" from 1985 by Dionne Warwick, Gladys Knight, Stevie Wonder and Elton John @eltonjohndotcom. I have to be honest and say that between yesterday's Extra Special Sexy LifeCycle Spin and today's #totalrequestride, I continue to love what I do and feel completely and utterly blessed to be able to keep doing it. I am humbled and grateful. I often say in my classes that even the smallest change can make a big difference. I hope to live that truth day to day in the small efforts of my classes. In good health, tommy

Wow! Once again, I am blown away by the energy, fun, instensity, sweat, hard work, and focus in this morning's Extra Special Sexy LifeCycle Spin @crunchgym - Sunset! What was extra special about it? Well, we were lucky enough to have 7 riders from next week's 2015 California AIDS LifeCycle ride! Our annual extra special class is our way to show support to these amazing individuals that have been training for the past 10 months to a year to prepare for a ride that will most likely change their lives as well as the lives of so many others! That's right! Altogether, there will be almost 3,000 riders taking part in the LifeCycle ride. Last year, they raised over $15 million. This year, they will most likely raise even more! Proceeds benefit the programs of the LA LGBT Center and the San Francisco AIDS Foundation that help research and those living with HIV/AIDS. So not only have these riders been training for so long, they have also been fundraising. Each rider must raise a minimum of $3,000. Most of the riders in class this morning have already far exceeded that minimum. In fact, these riders have raised from between the minimum $3,000 up to $15,000! How awesome is that! On Sunday, May 31st, they will begin their ride in San Francisco where they will ride 545 miles to Los Angeles, anywhere from 45 to 110 miles per day. They will pass through the finish line on Saturday, June 6th, at the Veterans Center just outside of Brentwood. There is still time to make a donation to any of these riders. The links to their donation pages are listed below. Help out if you can. Every little bit helps! And just like in class, every little thing you do can make a big difference! So make a difference! Make a BIG difference! In good health! tommy

And thanks to these amazing businesses that donated items to this morning's class to help make it even more extra special!

1. Burke Williams - Gift Certificate (more than a $100 value) AND 3-day free spa passes for each gift bag!

The Annual Extra Special Sexy Spin in support of the California AIDS LifeCycle Riders is TOMORROW, Tuesday, May 26, 2015, 7:00am!

Yes, it is that time of year again. Every last week in May, we do a little extra something to send off the amazing and inspiring Riders who will be heading off to San Francisco later this week to begin the Ride of a lifetime! A lifechanging event! A fundraiser like no other! Thousands of Riders have been training for the past 10 months or so. They have also been raising funds by seeking sponsors. Training includes actual road rides almost every weekend. Many supplement their outdoor rides with indoor cycling as well. A fundraising minimum of $3,000 must be met and many far surpass that minimum. Last year, almost 3000 Riders raised over $15 million! Help make this year an even bigger success! Beneficiaries are the Los Angeles LGBT Center and the San Francisco AIDS Foundation. Many of the Riders are our fellow members here at Crunch Fitness - Sunset. Many of them you workout alongside everyday. You may know them, but you may not know how much time and effort they have donated for such a worthy cause! In addition to the training and fundraising they have been doing for so long already, they are also taking off 7 days of work on their own time and riding 80-100 miles each day for a total of 545 miles from San Francisco to Los Angeles. They leave San Francisco this upcoming Sunday, May 31st and cross the finish line in Los Angeles next Saturday, June 6th. Obviously, this is no small sacrifice. This is no small commitment. This is no small undertaking. So let's show them how much appreciate their time and efforts, their sacrifice and volunteerism, their good hearts and detemined minds! Thanks you 2015 California AIDS LifeCycle Riders! Tomorrow morning's annual Extra Special Sexy Spin is a very small way of showing our appreciation for all that you all have done and are doing! You inspire us! You motivate us! You impress us! You are awesome! Thank you!
