And once again, now that the big screen TV's are working again after having malfunctioned for the past 4 weeks and after introducing the first video to start off Sexy Spin for the first time the week before that, the video intro to Sexy Spin is back! Again this week, I chose to use a mashup of last year's biggest hits to start things off. This morning, I chose DJ Earworm's "United State of Pop: 50 Shades of Pop", a mashup of the 50 biggest hits of 2015. DJ Earworm kind of originated this whole yearend mashup of the year's biggest hits several years ago. Now, there are many, many dj's out there doing their own versions. I love it when it is done well. And DJ Earworm is not only one of the first but definitely one of the best! Then, I played two videos to really "hammer home" the Sexy Spin theme, Kylie Minogue's "Sexercize" and Eric Prydz' "Call On Me". The video for "Call On Me" is one of the silliest videos I know. It parodies group fitness (specifically a step class), the 80's, and the game that often accompanied the attraction and sexiness of a step class's participants. Nothing that much different from what happens before, during and after a Sexy Spin class I'm sure! In fact, I hope you all were able to view the video I posted on the Ride with Tommy!'s Facebook page. It is not a parody but a real life wedding proposal and flash mob that takes place in a spin class! Beautiful! So full of love! If you haven't checked it out, please do so! To bring all of this together, I think all that I have written so far certainly highlights all that I hope to provide in each Sexy Spin class. An intense Ride. One that makes you sweat! One that makes you feel sexier. One that can sometimes be somewhat silly. And fun! And one that definitely plays a variety of music that motivates and pushes and challenges everyone to work harder and make a difference! Make a change! A positive difference. A positive change. Creating positive energy that feeds you during and long after the Ride. Allowing that positive energy to make the rest of your day more happy and productive. Sharing that positive energy with others you see and meet! I try to provide a lot in a Ride with Tommy! I hope that everyone can accomplish a lot in one of my classes. If not, it certainly wouldn't be for a lack of trying! Or a lack of opportunity! It all can happen right here. In a Ride with Tommy! In Sexy Spin. I truly hope to see you in a class soon! Until then, in good health, tommy!

Happy birthday Jason! Ride with Tommy! regular, Jason, has celebrated his birthday with us here for about the past 10 years or so. Jason, thanks for your continued support, for your positive energy in class (in the front row!), and for your song requests each year to celebrate your birthday with a "Ride with Tommy! Birthday Spin"! Something he did a little different this year was a result of the recent passings of several of music legends that certainly had a great impact not only in the entire world, but even in the music we play here in our little bitty spin class. So not only were we celebrating Jason's birthday, but we also celebrated the lives and contributions of David Bowie, Maurice White of Earth, Wind & Fire, Vanity of Vanity 6, and even Donna Summer and Whitney Houston whom we lost not so recently but still all too soon! Thanks to everyone who participated in class this morning. Thanks for all the positive energy that you contributed and created! I hope you all realized the results for which you work and reached the goals for which you strive! Hope to see you in class again soon! Until then, in good health, tommy

@crunchgym - Sunset, we are kicking off the Valentine's Day weekend this morning with a special track list highlighting heartbreakers and heartthrobs. This was a fun track list to put together! Now, some of the artists appearing in this morning's track list may fall under one category for one person and in the other category for another person. However, I don't think there will be much argument that they are definitely one or the other! I hope this Valentine's Day weekend will be full of love for everyone! Work out hard! Love yourself! Love everyone! Remember that love is love and everyone is deserving of love. No matter who one loves. Love you all! I'd love to see you in class again soon! Until then, in good health, tommy!

Well, the big screen tv's are not working yet, but hopefully the problems will be solved in the next few days! Thanks for your patience and understanding! Though we weren't able to play videos, we still played this week's #totalrequestride songs. I've started marking the 3 #totalrequestride songs this week by following the track listing above with (#totalrequestride!). I hope this helps. So remember to tweet your requests to @crunchgym followed by the hashtag #totalrequestride (and also #ridewithtommy) so that we can play your favorite songs or videos in class! In addition to the 3 #totalrequestride songs, I also scattered songs by the standout performers from this past weekend's Super Bowl 50! So yes, there is Coldplay, Lady Gaga and of course, Beyonce. I didn't include Bruno Mars this week, but he certainly contributed to what I thought was an amazing halftime performance! And I think everyone in this morning's #totalrequestride also had amazing performances! Congrats for all the hard work and for all that you accomplished! And thanks for being a part of the Ride with Tommy! See you next time! Until then, in good health, tommy

13. You Have More Friends Than You Know - Glee Cast
So, I apologize for my posts being rather "spotty" and infrequent the last couple of weeks. As those of you in class know, we have been having some technical difficulty with both the sound and the big screen televisions which we use for 3 of my classes, the Threshold Ride, the Peak Performance Ride, and the #totalrequestride. And the week before the tv's went on the blink, I thought of introducing a video aspect to Sexy Spin as well. The good news is that we have a new sound system with bluetooth capacity and new speakers throughout the spin room! Yay! The downside, we have been working out the volume issues and the tv's have gone out. I have been juggling my cd's (I know...yes, I still use cd's! You may giggle or outright laugh now.), the new bluetooth option, and the direct cable plug-in to the phone option using songs downloaded and saved directly on my phone. So, often, my "preplanned" track lists have been unused and I've been making the track lists up in class while trying to get the best sound using these three play options. On top of all that, I pulled something in my lower back last week which has driven me straight from teaching class to my couch or bed while recuperating from my incapacity. Ugh! So, enough excuses. I hope to be able to bring a "smoother" experience back to classes very soon. Hopefully in the next few days! But by smooth, I don't mean an easy class that doesn't require you to push yourself out of your comfort zone or to the point where you feel uncomfortable. These are vital parts of class that are necessary to move you closer to reaching your goals! You must push yourself out of your comfort zone if you want to get the results that are possible by committing to a spin class! If you are comfortable while riding in class, then you are not working. And to me, that is just not an option in class! So, come to class ready to work! Feel uncomfortable! It should never feel to easy! If so, you are missing out on the workout you could be having! You are missing out on the results you could be getting! Whether I'm playing from my antique cd's, mp3's on my phone or even by using the new bluetooth option on the new stereo, be ready to be challenged! Whether you can see videos, colors, numbers, zone or percentages on the tv screens, be ready to feel in your body the results of the work to which you are committed! Get ready to make a change. A positive change. Get ready to see and feel results. Get ready to sweat! I look forward to sharing this experience with you soon! Until then, in good health! tommy
