A great big thanks to the two very hot men of reality tv, JD "Jesse" Jordan and Enrique Sapene who helped hand out the $100 gift certificates from Sunstyle Tanning to everyone who attended Sexy Spin this morning! JD is currently starring in Season 3 of Bravo's 'Workout' (Tuesdays, 10:00pm). Enrique is hoping to become the next telenovela star on VH1's 'Viva Hollywood' (Sundays, 10:00pm). I've known these guys for a few years now, and I have to say they are truly very nice, sweet guys who happen to be as sexy as hell! I can't thank them enough for being there and making Sexy Spin that much more fun and sexy! Thanks again, guys! To view their bio pages on their respective show websites, just click on their names and very sexy pictures here:

Enrique Sapene
And another 'thank you!' goes out to Sunstyle Tanning for providing the free $100 gift cards to everyone who attended Sexy Spin this morning. No, not just the lucky one or two whose bike number was pulled out of a hat, but everyone who was there! That is awesome! I hope everyone that made it to class this morning had a great time, got a great workout, and gets a great tan from Sunstyle Tanning very soon! Be sure to click here or on their name and picture in the right column of my blog to learn more about them and to find out their exact location so you can get there as soon as you can to tan!
As for my track list, and very briefly so that I don't ramble on too, too long, I once again took some inspiration from Mariah Carey week on American Idol. I played Mimi's versions of David Cook's performance of 'Always Be My Baby' (awesome!) and David Archuleta's performance of 'When You Believe' (also amazing!) I'm feeling pretty confident that we will be seeing these two David's in the final two idol competitors! My friends and sometimes spinning clients, Richard and Sean, turned me on to Kelly Rowland's 'Daylight' (Thanks, Sean!) and the mashup of Amerie and Daft Punk's 'Take Control Of The Funk' (Thanks, Richard!) Michael Jackson's 'Jam' was one of the top vote-getters on this blog's last week's poll of favorite Michael Jackson songs to spin to. Spinning client Kristen requested Seal's 'Killer'. Finally, Taylor Dayne is performing at Jeffrey Sanker's White Party out in Palm Springs this weekend. She is actually playing during my good friend and amazing DJ Manny Lehman's set at the Sunday afternoon T-Dance, so I thought I'd play her most recent and current hits in class today. Manny has actually mixed some of Taylor's songs! So if you make it out to Palm Springs this weekend, be sure to stop by and hear Manny and Taylor make magical music together again!
Thanks again to each of you for your support of my blog and my classes, to JD and Enrique for being so beautiful and sexy (both inside and out!), and Sunstyle Tanning for being such a great Official Sponsor of Sexy Spin! Happy birthday, Ulrich!
In good health,
tommy

So I was honored to have 4 amazing instructors in class today: Kirk Allen (who teaches Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7:00am at Crunch), Guy B, Nick Oram and Dollar Tan - all of whom I am so lucky to have sub for me often. They are a great group of guys, very talented instructors, and definitely (if I may be so shallow) easy on the eyes! And not only are they awesome instructors, they all have so much talent in other areas as well. Kirk owns his own company. Nick, in addition to being a model and host/spokesperson, is the marketing manager for Sunstyle Tanning (the official sponsor of Sexy Spin!). Guy B is one of the most talented artist/musicians around (check out his website here!) And Dollar is also a model and actor who is also an extremely talented dancer and martial arts specialist. A big thanks to these guys for being in class today, inspiring me and the riders around them, and for subbing my classes whenever they can! You guys rock!
Today's track list includes a new single by Paula Deanda which samples Pebbles's Mercedes Boy. I love them both! I also put in a little bit of a Phil Collins theme: two covers of his songs which sample him as well ('In The Air Tonight' by Tupac and 'Take Me Home' by Bone Thugs-N-Harmony), and a remix of 'Easy Lover'. I love Phil Collins! My favorite single of his is 'Against All Odds' which is the title theme to one of my favorite movies! I've also included another of Jeanie Tracy's songs, 'It's A Man's World'. You know how much I love her as I play 'Party People' by Alter so often - it is one of my favorite songs to run to! Her voice and the lyrics are so high energy you can't help but push yourself a little harder and faster! 'It's A Man's World' also features Bobby Womack. He is the artist mentioned in Mariah Carey's song, 'We Belong Together' ("I can't sleep at night when you are on my mind, Bobby Womack's on the radio saying to me: "If you think you're lonely now", Wait a minute this is too deep (too deep)") And I believe there is also a sample of a Donna Summer song in this mix which makes me love it even more (because we already know how much I love Donna! see previous post on April 5). Just as a little inside joke, after including 'It's A Man's World', I felt compelled to include 'Mad World' by Tears For Fears. Don't ask, I just thought it was funny...'man's world'...'mad world'...indulge me! After hearing Carrie Underwood sing the heck outta 'Praying For Time' with her own amazing and very unique arrangement, I thought I'd include George Michael's original version to cool down to today. My final track list note is in regards to Rick Astley. I'm guilty. I love Rick Astley! He hit it big back in the '80s when I was going to school over in Manchester, England. Just last week a came across a news item about 'Rickrolling'. This is where a link is described as leading to something very new, fun and exciting but instead takes you to a video of Rick's 'Never Gonna Give You Up'! Just recently on April Fool's Day 2008, YouTube linked all of it's front page videos to 'Never Gonna Give You Up'! Hilarious! So, see? Even when I play an 'oldie', I still keep it topical!
Well, thanks again for all of your support! I hope to see you in class soon!
In good health,

Okay, I just want to point out that Sexy Spin is something that I came up with almost 2 years ago to make class just a little more interesting and exciting for those that had to workout before work and when class was at 6:30 in the morning. It was intended to be just as intense, but a little more fun, silly, sweaty, sexy, etc. I figured I would make it worth hitting that snooze button one less time or two by encouraging all the hot, sexy, sweaty men in class to take their shirts off - something that I thought would make class a little more interesting for all the women and gay men in class! In turn, I figured the straight guys would love seeing the sexy women who loved seeing the sexy, shirtless men. For this, I obtained special permission from management at Crunch, but it is not officially recognized/sanctioned/promoted/encouraged by Crunch. It all started as a kind of underground thing.
Well, now that Sexy Spin has been moved to 7:00am, the numbers are increasing! More people are sweating, taking their shirts off, working just as hard, having more fun, and becoming more sexy - both mentally and physically! I can't tell you how much fun it is for me to see so many hot, sweaty, sexy bodies (both male and female!) working so intensely and having so much fun doing so! It inspires me! It encourages me to work harder to make class more challenging and more fun! However, as always, I thoroughly stress the importance of safety in class so that it is as challenging as possible to experienced riders, accessible as possible to newcomers, and the workout is as safe, efficient and productive as possible for everyone!
Crunch has asked me to make sure that everyone knows that this is the type of environment present in Sexy Spin. It is not for everyone. But if it sound like it is, then I encourage you to attend Sexy Spin on Thursday mornings at Crunch at 7:00am!
If you are not a Crunch member, send me an email or post a comment and I'll put all first-timers on my guest list! You can even stay after class and workout to see if Crunch may be the gym for you! If so, I can get you a special Sexy Spin deal!
If you would like to be on my weekly Sexy Spin email (with now famous 'visual motivation!'), post a comment with your email address, and I'll make sure you receive it!
This week's music for Sexy Spin was partially inspired from American Idol's 'Idol Gives Back.' One of my favorite parts of the show was Chris Daughtry's clip set to his song, 'What About Now.' I said it would make a great hill and wanted to use it asap! I loved Mariah's performance of 'Fly Like A Bird' as well as the idols singing 'Seasons Of Love' from Rent (one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite shows of all time!) I was so impressed by Miley Cyrus's performance skills on the show! I can't believe she's only 15! I loved her song 'Good And Broken', so I included it on this morning's track list, too. I found a great remix of Whitney's 'I Wanna Dance With Somebody' (refer back to my fun, silly and sexy reference for Sexy Spin music!) And Kina is performing at Here Lounge on Sunday night (at my friend Tom Whitman's Stoli Music Series at Size Sundays), so I had to include one of my favorites by her, 'Girl From The Gutter'!
Okay, I've rambled enough. Thanks for listening. And thanks for your support of my classes. I hope to see you in the next one!
In good health,
tommy

Track List - Saturday, April 5, 2008
1. Stamp Your Feet - Donna Summer
2. Rock Wit U - Ashanti
3. Lollipop - Lil Wayne featuring Static Major
4. How I Feel - Kelly Clarkson
5. Touch My Body (remix) - Mariah Carey
6. Love In This Club - Usher featuring Young Jeezy
7. See You Again - Miley Cyrus
8. 4 Minutes (Madonna featuring Justin Timberlake & Timbaland)
9. Don't Stop Till You Get Enough - Michael Jackson
10. Beat It - Fall Out Boy
11. Thriller - Stone Roses
12. Billie Jean - Chris Cornell
So, I opened with an as-yet-unreleased (thanks, d!) new single from Donna Summer (whom I love!) I saw her perform in Orlando last summer and she was off the hook! She performed in a light rain, and, yes!, she did sing MacArthur Park ("someone left my cake out in the rain...") She even had one of her guys standing behind her holding a little umbrella over her to keep her dry. Nothing was going to stop her from performing! Her show was followed by a spectacular fireworks show. So, I have to say it was one of my all-time favorite evenings!
Congrats to Mariah for moving ahead of Elvis to take sole possession of 2nd place in history for the most #1 singles as "Touch My Body" moves into #1 on the Billboard chart. She is just behind the Beatles who are in 1st place with 20!
And congrats to Madonna for also moving ahead of Elvis to claim 1st place in history for the most top 10 singles! "4 Minutes" with Justin Timberlake and Timbaland moves to #3 this week!
Yes, I have included a little "bubble gum" for everyone this week - Miley Cyrus's "See You Again". I had been hearing the song on the radio before I knew who the artist was. I thought, "That would make a great run!" When I found out it was Miley, well, I was hoping anyone in their 'tweens (or their moms!)that takes my class will appreciate it!
Finally, yes, it does appear that I have created a mini-tribute to Michael Jackson. Yes, it started a couple of weeks ago when David Cook covered Chris Cornell's cover of Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean". I love it! So then I heard Fall Out Boy's cover of "Beat It" on the radio and thought it would be a great run (which it did indeed turn out to be!) So after a little searching, I found Ashanti's cover of "Rock Wit U" and The Stone Roses's cover of "Thriller" which was surprisingly "lounge-y" and a great cool-down! Whatever you think of MJ, you can't deny his ability to make hits that last! So, here is my shout out to him!
Have a great weekend, and as always, thank you all for your support!
In good health,
tommy

So then I heard Fall Out Boy's cover of "Beat It" on the radio and thought it would be a great run (which it did indeed turn out to be!) So after a little searching, I found Ashanti's cover of "Rock Wit U" and The Stone Roses's cover of "Thriller" which was surprisingly "lounge-y" and a great cool-down! Whatever you think of MJ, you can't deny his ability to make hits that last! So, here is my shout out to him!
Have a great weekend, and as always, thank you all for your support!
In good health,
tommy

I won an hour of personal training with Jackie Warner!
I was the lucky winner of the top raffle prize awarded at last Sunday's "Tan For A Cause" benefit hosted by Reality Cares and Sunstyle Tanning, Official Sponsor of Sexy Spin! The prize was a one hour personal training session with Jackie Warner, host of Bravo TV's "Workout" and the host of the "Tan For A Cause" program! The event raised funds and awareness for Stoked Mentoring. Jackie said she was going to kick my ass! I said, in turn, I could kick her ass as well in one of my indoor cycling classes. She said that would actually be a lot of fun. I'll keep you posted of the progress of this fitness challenge!
