This week's theme: SOUNDTRACKS and charity: BREAST CANCER AWARENESS!
We are down to the homestretch! This is the final week of October Theme Spins and Charity Promotions. This week's theme will consist of music from your favorite SOUNDTRACKS!
This week's highlighted charity is BREAST CANCER AWARENESS, specifically the M.D. ANDERSON CANCER CENTER in Houston, Texas! October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!
Breast Cancer Awareness is a cause especially significant to me. My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 years ago. My partner, Rich, just found out a little over a month ago that his mom was diagnosed with breast cancer as well. I am happy to say that they are both survivors and back on the road to living life like they are used to. However, that would not be possible without the research conducted by organizations such as the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center! That is why your contributions are so important!
Please take a moment to click on the button below - seriously, $5 or $10 is vitally important! Every amount makes a difference!
And don't forget...there will be prizes and a special surprise guest!
Thank you all once again for your support of my classes and for the charities promoted each week. Without you, none of it would be worthwhile!
In good health,
Tommy

Thanks again to Dollar Tan for subbing!
Hey everybody!
I am in Chicago until Wednesday afternoon. Rich and I are visiting his mother who is recovering from breast cancer surgery. She is doing great! My mother is also a breast cancer survivor. Which makes this week's charity that much more important to me.
I will be back on Thursday morning for Sexy Spin and to continue this month of theme and charity weeks. Again, this week's theme is Soundtrack Spin and the charity is the Breast Cancer department of M.D. Anderson's Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. This is an institute known worldwide for its research. October is also Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
So I hope to see you Thursday, Friday and Saturday of this week.
And thanks again to Dollar Tan for so ably subbing my classes Monday and Wednesday!

This week's theme (COUNTRY!) and charity (AIDS Walk LA!)
Now, don't be scared! I am only going to play the most popular/crossover country that will stay true to the workout and usual intensity of the class. I promise you will not be "pickin' and a grinnin'" or twangin' for 45 minutes. It will be motivating, high energy with rockin' beats! Think Garth Brooks, Shania Twain, Faith Hill, Rascal Flatts (or maybe some good remixes thereof!)
This week's charity is the AIDS Walk LA which takes place this Sunday, October 21st! We will not be collecting money in class or at the gym; we just want to bring a little added attention to this very worthy cause. Specifically, I want to encourage you to donate to the “Gang of 100” AIDS Walk Team. The “Gang of 100” is a group of friends that works throughout the year to take part in or create fundraising events to make a difference. This is the second year the “Gang of 100” has been a part of AIDS Walk LA. Last year, the Gang raised almost $65,000 and was the 2nd place fundraising team. This year, their goal is to raise $100,000 and to come in first! They have already raised more than $75,000! To donate, click either logo below:
I look forward to seeing all of you in class!
In good health,

Jury Duty
Hey everybody!
Unfortunately, I have been called in for jury duty this week. I'm not sure how many days I will be out, but I know I have to report to the courthouse downtown on Monday morning.
Thanks to Nick for agreeing to sub my class for me! I really appreciate it, and I know you will all be in good hands!
In good health,

This week's theme: Rock!
This week's theme to the music used in class will be ROCK! Now, I will not play eardrum-breaking, headbanging, screaming-at-the-top-of-their-lungs rock and roll for 40 minutes. You know me better than that. I will choose music that is relevant to the exercise and still a lot of fun, but that will have some kind of common 'rock' thread to it all. So don't worry. The same still applies: intense workout, fun music, safe and form-focused ride!
This week's charity is the Family Equality Council which promotes equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer parents, guardians and allies. To donate to this very worthy cause, please click below:

Theme Spins!
Wow! October is going to be one crazy, fun, intense and rewarding month. Theme spins are back!
Theme spins are a way to add a little pizzazz to your normal workout - even if your workout routine already includes indoor cycling. I choose a theme and select songs that fit into that particular theme - fun and motivational songs that support a given challenge or activity. It adds fun and energy to class. I never sacrifice the workout or the intensity of the class. It's just another reason to have more fun while getting an amazingly intense workout. And of course, I still always stress form above everything else - because proper form allows you to get the most efficient, effective, safe and productive ride possible!
In addition, there will be some surprises in each class, including guest appearances and prizes. So arrange your schedule to Ride with Tommy for the month of October!
Last but not least, I will also be promoting a different charity each week. We will not be collecting money. We will only promote a charity and provide the opportunity to donate online through my blog and weekly emails.
I have chosen 6 themes for October. These may be subject to change, so check back to keep updated. (and if you absolutely hate a certain theme and you know you won't get a good workout because you refuse to be open-minded, then please make plans to NOT attend that class...I don't want to hear any complaining because 1)it's for charity, and 2)you've been warned!) ;o)
Thursday, October 4 (Sexy Spin) - Latin
Saturday, October 6 - Latin
Charity - Aids Research Alliance
Thursday, October 11 (Sexy Spin) - Rock
Saturday, October 13 - Rock
Charity - Family Pride
Thursday, October 18 (Sexy Spin) - Country (yes, that's right!)
Saturday, October 20 - R&B/HipHop or Disco
Charity - AIDS Walk Los Angeles
Thursday, October 25 (Sexy Spin) - Soundtrack
Saturday, October 27 - Soundtrack
Charity - M.D. Anderson Cancer Center (October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!)
To donate to this week's charity, click on the link above!
Thank you all as always for your support! As I always say, without you, it wouldn't be any fun!
In good health,
Tommy
