I'm posting this morning's track list to congratulate Christina for winning this, the final, week's random drawing! Christina won a $10 gift card to Starbucks! Today's highlighted cause is the Product (RED)(www.red.org) campaign started in 2006 by Bono, the lead singer of U2. I thought it only appropriate that we spotlight (RED) during the Ride with Tommy!'s Red Line Ride and by playing U2's single, "Invisible" from which all download proceeds benefit (RED). The (RED) organization works with the world’s most iconic brands and organizations to develop (RED)-branded products and services, that when purchased, trigger corporate giving to the Global Fund (www.theglobalfund.org). These contributions are then invested in HIV/AIDS programs in Africa, with a focus on countries with high prevalence of mother-to-child transmission of HIV. The goal is to create the first AIDS-free generation by eliminating the transmission of HIV from HIV+ mothers to their babies. Today's technology has made it possible. (RED) hopes to make it a reality! By the year 2015! Starbucks is just one of the "iconic brands" that has partnered with (RED) and since joining (RED) in 2008, has contributed more than $11 million! I actually had an old Starbucks (RED) gift card upon which I uploaded the $10.00 to give away as the random drawing.
